Have Company

Have Company is a shop & residency space with a focus on handmade home goods, textiles, & intentional living practices. We also offer workshops, creative consulting, and are always interested in a cup of tea

We are located at 136 Division Avenue in Grand Rapids, MI. The shop is owned & curated by Marlee Grace with the help & visioning of many talented friend & collaborators. We have hand picked a selection of home goods, lifestyle journals, zines, jewelry, vintage clothing, & more! We host zine readings, book releases events, weekly gatherings, and monthly workshops. The shop is filled with fine art & goods that we truly believe in.

Many of the items you will see in the shop are things we use in our own home, made by our friends. We hope that when you take something home from Have Company you are filled with the desire to make!

The back half of our space is a domestic residency space. Residents stay for one week while they work on a project of their choosing, teach a workshop, & explore Grand Rapids. Residents are provided with a shower, a full kitchen that is shared with shop staff, a bed, a desk, and a secondary work space in the basement which is currently being transformed into an underground library & resource center.

We put a call out for residents quarterly and will be putting a call out at the end of August 2014. Each resident is featured on the (coming soon) Have Company podcast, writes a guest blog post on our blog, has an opportunity to host dinners & open studio times, curate a shelf in the shop, & so much more. You can see a full list of past, current, and future residents HERE

You Surroundings:
City living is the name of the game, but we are only a 45 minute drive from the sweet lake michigan beaches. we are just a few blocks away from lovely coffee shops, restaurants, & shops

Marlee is a zine maker, performance artist, and shop owner John is a photographer, film maker, and musician

We make things together and separately. We are married to each other, have two chickens, and a whole lotta garlic growing in the backyard.
